CDC/LPA Merger Announcement

Transformative Partnership Expands Reach, Resources, and Employee Ownership

Civil Design Concepts (CDC), a leader in civil engineering and community-focused design solutions, is proud to announce a transformative merger with Land Planning Associates (LPA), a strategic partner based in Upstate South Carolina. This union will create an employee-owned industry leader, strengthening both firms’ capabilities in planning, engineering, construction administration, and municipal support for clients across the Southeast and beyond.

As part of this merger, LPA’s employees will join CDC’s 100-percent employee-owned structure (ESOP), reinforcing a shared commitment to long-term growth, innovation, and client success. The alignment is further strengthened by the complementary markets, minimal geographic overlap, and remarkably similar core values. Both teams believe in investing in their communities, supporting local nonprofits, and fostering strong workplace cultures that drive lasting client relationships and repeat business.

“Joining forces enables us to diversify our workload, enhance our service offerings, and provide our employee-owners with new opportunities for professional growth,” said Patrick Bradshaw, Managing Partner of CDC. “We look forward to building strong relationships and trust among our combined staff as we continue to invest in our communities and deliver quality work for our clients.”

The combined firm will boast expanded resources, ESOP stability, and a broader market presence spanning upstate South Carolina and Western North Carolina. Together, the new entity will continue to serve local municipalities, government agencies, private developers, and a variety of other clients.

“A shared vision and corporate culture are the foundation of this partnership’s success,” said Patrick Rivers, founder of LPA. “We’re excited to broaden our reach, offer new opportunities, and build upon our strengths with additional resources and stability. This merger represents a transformative next step for everyone at LPA.”

With a mutual commitment to excellence, community engagement, and employee ownership, CDC and LPA are poised to create a greater whole, leveraging the strengths and values of both firms to serve a broader client base and foster continued success.
